The Learning Centre – Programs for Students with Disabilities (PSD)

The Learning Centre building is located in the picturesque grounds of the Kitchen Garden / Outdoor Classroom.  This unique setting provides all students with special needs a safe and nurturing environment.

Programs delivered by our dedicated staff, provide opportunities that will guide, encourage and support our students to become confident, independent, lifelong learners; with the will and skills to achieve and maximize their potential as individuals and as members of their community.

Student individualised programs are developed.

This may include modified curriculum, classroom assistance, individual or small group work at the Learning Centre which is resourced with computers/laptops, literacy and numeracy materials.

Our kitchen, laundry and garden facilities provide a realistic setting for the delivery of our Life Skills program.

In collaboration with local businesses and employment agencies we provide students with a choice to undertake supported ongoing work experience as part of their program.

The Learning Centre is available to students before school, at recess and lunchtimes for supervised study or recreational activities; social interaction is encouraged and promoted in a friendly atmosphere.

Theme based activity days and overnight excursions provide a valuable experience for students where leadership, self-esteem and teamwork are promoted.

All inquiries are welcome and should be directed to the PSD Team Leader.
