In 2008, Western Port Secondary College formed a sister school relationship with SMK Aminuddin Baki in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The College was very excited about forming this relationship to enhance the teaching of LOTE: Indonesian at the school. While Western Port Secondary College is relatively small it has a proud history in encouraging students to complete a second language. The LOTE area is ably led by Thuy Ta who has been teaching Indonesian at the school for over ten years.
The College has been supported by DEECD and the Australia-Malaysia Institute in establishing their sister school program. Students have been able to converse and share information from both countries. It has been particularly pleasing to see the importance of sustainability in the our sister school after they heard of what had been achieved at Western Port Secondary College.
SMK Aminuddin Baki, Kuala Lumpur is a High Performance School located along Jalan Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur. Established in 1958, it has approximately 1200 students from Form 1 to Form 6 completing their secondary education.
