Today we held a whole school Assembly to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of ANZAC day. The National Anthem was sung by Delaney Kupsch and then Mr Devine spoke about the war and Australia’s commitment to remembering the Soldiers who served for their country. Maddison Morrisey and Tyler Cornford delivered an outstanding ANZAC day address explaining some of the history and experiences of Australians in World War 1. Angus Fowler and Brodie Phillips who have parents in the Armed Forces spoke about what Anzac Day means to them. The Ode of Remembrance was then read by Jenna Cook and Ted Lemon then played the Last Post and Rouse. At the end of the assembly Alyce Bell took the Memorial Wreath from the Gym to the Flagpoles were it will remain for the day with the flags at half-mast in honour of Anzac Day tomorrow.
