Purpose.

The purpose of this policy is to outline the values of our school community and explain the vision, mission, and objectives of our school.

Mission.

To provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment that challenges all members of the College community to perform to their personal best. We will promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance, understanding and cooperation. This will enable our students to thrive in a diverse and changing world.

At Western Port Secondary College we are community minded. This means we are willing to contribute and represent our College community in an inclusive, constructive, and connected learning environment.

At Western Port Secondary College we strive through achievement. This means we deliver our personal best in all settings, reaching high expectations and attaining great outcomes.

At Western Port Secondary College we are respectful. This means we are considerate and appreciative of all members of our school community, environment, and opportunities.

At Western Port Secondary College we are engaged. This means we feel a sense of belonging, enjoy interactions with teachers and other students, and we identify and value schooling outcomes. We participate in academic and non-academic school activities.

To celebrate and embed our Statement of Values and Philosophy in our school community, we

  • appoint leadership captains at all year levels for our core values
  • provide awards and recognition for students who actively demonstrate the values
  • discuss our values with students in the classroom, meetings and assemblies.
