Mornington Peninsula Foundation
Western Port Secondary College are incredibly grateful for the productive relationship we have with the Mornington Peninsula Foundation.
Mornington Peninsula Foundation (MPF) have provided philanthropic support to WPSC since 2018 when they co-funded the STEM program that outreached to feeder primary schools. They then got involved with the Western Port Learning Guarantee (WPLG) when that was established in 2019 and which has grown during this time to a community wide, cohesive initiative bringing five feeder schools and local services together to ensure all children are supported in their learning and wellbeing. Funding from MPF makes possible the roles of Learning Enhancement Co-ordinator and Family Support Worker. The Learning Enhancement Co-ordinator oversees the work primary schools are doing to embrace the Science of Learning and to ensure the transition from primary to secondary school is a great experience for all students. The Family Support Worker provides invaluable assistance to students and their families enabling students who may be at risk of disengaging to stay at school in a supported way. MPF funding also makes it possible for our school to have the Elevate program which is designed to re-engage students who have become disengaged and see them transition back to mainstream education.
MPF also supports the Music in primary schools program. This enables a specialist music teacher to teach over 500 children every week, visiting four primary schools with one day per school every week.

Indepth Civil
WPSC is about to embark on creating an Indigenous Garden which will be known as the Gathering Place. To set us up with a great start, one of our regular contractors, Tyron Stewart from Indepth Civil donated labour and more. On a Saturday two workers, a dump truck, and large digger spent 4 hours clearing the area of old garden beds, vegetation and scraped the area clean, all whilst carefully maneuvering around the Bunjils nest which holds significant value to our school. We are fortunate to have such committed local businesses such as Indepth Civil giving us so much support.

Community Bank - Balnarring & District
We would like to thank our incredibly generous sponsors, the Bendigo Bank at Balnarring, for helping us realise this dream. We will invite our community to the opening, with our community partners, Bendigo Bank Balnarring representatives present to cut the ribbon.
Rotary Club of Hastings Western Port
We are fortunate to have the support of our local Rotary Club here in Hastings. They have partnered with us and the Community Bank – Balnarring & District in the redevelopment in our playground area at Western Port Secondary College.
The Rotary Club also stepped up and assisted us with RUOK day in 2022, running a sausage sizzle for all the students.
Their support is invaluable to our school and they are great community partners. If you are interested in finding out more about what they do or volunteering please go to: Home Page | Rotary Club of Hastings Western Port (clubrunner.ca)
