Tammie Johnstone is our marvellous canteen manager who creates a welcoming atmosphere in our canteen and prepares delicious food and drink for students and staff alike.

The canteen at Western Port Secondary College allows students who need a respite from class to come and help prepare the food and serve during the recess and lunchtime breaks. The transferable skills and life skills they learn creates confidence and a great opportunity to document these on their resume when seeking employment.

The Hospitality VET course that is run utilises the canteen also for the practical assessment for students who undertake this course.

We also have school leavers who have come back to undertake a pre apprenticeship and studying Certificate III in hospitality, learning and working on the job in an environment that is  not only very diverse, but is familiar to them that has given further confidence when completed the course to carry on in other venues.
